A 700,000-square-meter complex, which includes a complete terminal structure, passenger and cargo facilities, duty-free shops, and restaurants, will incorporate cutting-edge design strategies and technologies to reduce its environmental effect.
The airport has been given a 3 Pearl design certification by the Estidama green building rating system, making it the highest-rated airport terminal in the GCC and the largest single building to be assessed globally.
